Laramie, WY; June 17, 2008: Technology Alignment sponsored and community open source projects, today announced the availability of Pioneer Explorer and Basic 3.2, the latest version of its open source Linux operating system distributions. Pioneer operating systems continues to build upon it's 7-year lifecycle with the Release 3 series. Highlights on the KDE based distribution include improvements and enhancements on the Programs Folder to allow difficult to find and install items such as codecs while the latest release of Pioneer Linux sports a 2.6.24-16 kernel, Firefox 3 beta 5 and OpenOffice.org version 2.4.0.

"We've come a long way in developing applications for the community, including our opensource HIATLANTIS CRM based on PostgreSQL," claims Technology Alignment CEO Dianne Ursini. "We're continuing with our commitment to Linux by continuing support for the promised 7 years on our Pioneer Basic and Explorer distributions".

Technology Alignment has also introduced it's workstations, servers and laptops provided with the Pioneer 3.2 release. A recent merger with Britt Systems, a Division of Technology Alignment, provides workstations starting at only $299 and $499 for a laptop for the first 100 laptops sold as a promotion. The $499.99 laptop will retail for $599 after the promotion.

The commercial versions have minor differences between the free version and use a different set of repositories when registered. Individuals may choose from either the free version, Pioneer Explorer, or a boxed set, Pioneer Basic, available from Technology Alignment partners in the US, Canada and New Zealand.

Bryan Christensen, Lead Developer of Linux and BSD distributions stated; "We believe in continuing our deployments of Linux Operating Systems to consumers, business and the community; providing a stable computing environment." Christensen also added, "Removing much of the unnecessary bloat in Pioneer, we believe we've come up with a viable desktop".

Pioneer Basic/Explorer is available from the Technology Alignment download server located at: http://www.tapioneer.com/downloads.php while a bit torrent is forthcoming.
